Alpha and Omega                                                                                         Page 2
By Anthony Douglas Gere

This unity will be gathered in a magical and invisible bond, created by the
level of our initial interaction that I show in my efforts.  So how it may start,
will determine how smooth or rough is travels down the path we chose and
select.  It is our honesty that lyes as the welcome mat to all adventures.  It is
our understand that will define what is not understood by the world.  For we
process a feeling, an emotion and link that others may try to define, but can
not describe. We can measure the progression, as we can acknowledge our
placement in the opposite.  We can approach things from different angles, to
surround what will be the same outcome.  We can do this, based on how we
want it to end.  We can see the destination clearly, which is why the quote I
first referred to means so much.  The quote came from the movie "Cocktail",
starring Tom Cruise and Elizabeth Sue.  Tom Cruise's character went after a
rich woman and ruined his relationship full of substance with Elizabeth
Shue's character.  When he realized the blunder and escaped his turmoil, he
quoted to her this very line.  She told him that though they were breaking up,
things shouldn't end badly or that way, which was a lack of communication
and understanding.  What she didn't realize was that there never was one,
and both were forcing a square peg into a round hole.  But Tom said to her,"
everything and everything we had ends badly, or it wouldn't end".  Now the
point is, bad doesn't mean negative all of the time, but it does mean there
was a connection or lack of one that did not link up.

My life, which to many have been labeled a gift and a curse, is know
different than say someone on the other end of the spectrum.  What I've
found in my experiences with people is that those in search of verification of
my status, mirror their own ignorance tenfold.  I've been with women and
men that went out of their way to justify my behavior with rude tactics.  I mean
instead of appreciating the efforts and things I did, they were looking for
reason or motives on why I did them.  When they realized that this is my
personality, they couldn't accept that, and conjured up things they would do if
they were me.  You see to make things simple, when you think and act upon
something without thought or initially, you are just mirroring your experiences
or how you would act if on the other end.  Instead of contributing to the act,
you are trying to find reasons to explain it.  This to me, is neither a gift
or curse, but a test of time and motive that will determine who enters into my
world, be it real or fantasy.  Should it matter if I am poor or rich, or mean or
joyful.  If 99% of the world says I'm a good guy, and I treat you like shit, which
one am I?  It should all come down to how I treat you as an individual, not a
statistic.  And though I am a number in this world, I am also a single digit in
how I operate.  I select to perform at and on a very high level, to me.  I've
seen my competition, and the results of those not willing to work for the
success they dream about.  I've also seen those sit back like Siskel & Ebert
and criticise the hard work and dedication someone put into displaying a
dream.  Its a vicious cycle in that the owners make the players play by
enticing some sort of prize to motivate performance.  Those that have the
gift, must accept when they are going to rely on it to survive, and when they
are going to perfect it to live.  So just being or doing to me is not enough.
One must be the ink to really be absorbed by the paper, and openly accept
the story on a unconditional effort, based on the contribution of ones ability
and or lack of.  For success and failure is all relative, and based on where
you start, which will determine, how and where you finish.
