Another Day Off Page 2

That he was the man. Now, to give you a little background, this aint your normal kid!
Not only did he grow up in a poverty strict area in Texas being one of the youngest if not
the youngest, his father left the family when he was young, and he had to take on the
role of being the man of the house. Not only did he give away his two older sisters at
their separate weddings, he proved all of the doubters wrong, on his orthodox style of
passing, and his six foot five, two hundred and thirty pound frame. This game was
being played by two powerhouse schools, with a sideline full of celebrities and alumni
cheering on their former schools, but not being played by Mr. Vincent Young. He was
not playing. Not only did he lead Texas to a win over the invincible USC Trojan
machine, the man was so dominate in how he was doing it, that it actually didn’t look
fair. This was bigger than anyone could imagine, and besides showing up to the
game of his life, he looked around and told the critics what he’s being telling the
fraternity in the world of college football all year long without saying a word, I am the
best. I’m the best and I don’t have to say it, my actions just did as you did in watching
me in action. Now don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t like he had a flash in the pan
performance, this was something that was years in the making. He just happens to
play sports, and this wasn’t anything to him, compared to real life. That’s why he
wasn’t celebrating like he was shocked, or doing things in an arrogant way. It was
like he was from another planet, and was simply showing what can come from
within, when one can create an environment inside of their minds to over come
what ever is placed in front, on the side and behind them.
Anyway, as in my first theory reciting my day off, my friend and me went to the local
mall to go find a game jersey, and even a hat showcasing where the present
Presidents Wife, graduated. We should have gotten one at the game, but we
were so caught up in what we were witnessing, we couldn’t afford to leave the
field. The magnetism kept everyone in his or her seats, and I really don’t think
any one was sitting down before, during and after the game. But as we were
walking through the mall, I once again had seen how the owners of the stores,
we missing out on revenue they never knew possible. There were promoting
the game and crowd that was there to see the event, but they were capitalizing
on the true symbol of a champion. There should have been number 10 Texas
jerseys hanging from the ceilings. There should have been large than life
cardboard cutouts of this example of a true hero. Not because he won the game,
but because he refused to lose in life. Lets put it this way; I just put a check in the
mail to the sports bar I was at, with a letter saying this:
To Players Sports Bar
XXX Street
Houston, Texas
