Battleplans a.k.a. Strategies for Survival & Success                        Page 2
by Anthony Douglas Gere

Now how may times have we heard the cliché', " If something is worth doing, do it well
or not at all"?.  I fully believe that, and stand by the systematic approach on developing a
routine to understand the importance of what I am trying to perfect.  As easily as we
wake up in the morning and brush our teeth, I practice being humble and open to other
possibilities when dealing with business and people.  I feel that if your conditional state
of mind is focused on the entire scope pertaining to each moment that has passed you,
presently happening and getting ready to happen, then they are unconditionally
acceptable to others opinions when those same three things come about.  Now once
gathering this information, you can gain a deeper understanding on why things are
what they are, and why they are on a selected the path.  Now though I may or may not
consume their idea or the events happening, the boundaries and system I place in my
direction and path will keep me focused on all going on around me.  Now what this
does is not allow for their ideas to alter my journey, but keep me aware if I should
encounter such a blessing or disturbance while traveling through mine.  So in having
that knowledge, I can reason with myself and the image or obstacle that faces me, that
way, I can be dealt with in a reasonable manner even if it is not reasonable.  You see
people come into our lives in three different categories; a reason, a season or a
lifetime.  How and why I say this and where I am coming from, is based on how we
perceive each person, and the perception of the choices we make in determining our
journey and who travels it with us.  Think about how many people you can realistically
say or claim are going to be with you for a moment, a short time or forever. Then ask
how many people feel that way about you.  Think of the affect on those you meet for a
second, minute, in conversation and in passing.  Think of your co-workers, cashier at
the grocery store or dry cleaning receptionist that you see every once in a while.
Think of the intimate encounters, the lessons you learned and how it affected both of
you and those after wards in a negative and positive way.  Now think on the
situations, how they came to be what they were and now are, and the path you took
based on those travels.  If you know it or not, you made a choice, and that choice
placed you in a moment that spawned the results of the next one, not yet to be seen
but destined.  It's a trip, because you are somewhat fighting a ghost or martyr that
never seems to go away, and keeps re-surfacing in different events as temptation.
But one does not have to fight if one doesn't want to, even though a war is being
fought, if one has a battleplan, a.k.a., a strategy for surviving or success.

So as been said in the chain email that has crossed the country many times over,
everything does happen for a reason or purpose.  It's somewhat like a daily test
that teaches, tempts or alerts us for whatever reason.  What makes it real or a
image, is how we deal with it physically, mentally and emotionally.  Even though
you may never physically act upon the temptation, the mental involvement can
alter your way of living and how life deals with you.  It's almost like we as people
would be better off going through the event to rid it from our vision of curiosity and
get it over with, instead of constantly thinking about it and wondering, allowing it to
distract us and halt things going in a forward motion.  But either way, the mere
fact that it is out there facing and meeting you around each corner you turn,
should alert you that there is something drawing you towards it and seriously
wrong or right in your life or battleplan.  This is where having a battleplan helps
out because in already planning and being aware of your direction, you can pick
and chose if this is something that will help you, harm you or merely keep you on or
off track in doing what you want to do.  This is where picking your battles plays an
important role.  One can either live for the moment, think about the present situation
or plan for the future.  Which ever one, fate will become reality based on what you
select and can handle.  Why I say what one can handle is because the
responsibilities of your actions will come with a price, and if you can not afford it, it
may bankrupt you in ways not labeled by money.  Now one can also strike gold in
these choices, but it is a gamble unless you have a battleplan, a.k.a strategy for
surviving and success.
