Make Up Your Mind
By Anthony Douglas Gere
Hello, and welcome to my personal maze. Now, after reading this you just might be and
more than likely will be very confused. I'm purposely trying to take you on a ride, in and out
of the story to create another story that you can write and share with me. The reasons
can be linked to many things, but understand that just because you may not understand
what I'm saying, doesn't make you or me correct. It just different in the same way, and
we're just going opposite directions to hopefully end up at the same place in the end. Now
where that place is, is up to us, but I need you to find your place so that I can find mine. I
will give you some clues to finish this maze, but you must follow four simple rules that you
will forget, but I will remind you when you get there. The story like all of my theory of
thoughts, are true. What is false is what ever you subtract or add to the story. So
remember, don't forget the four rules. They are: have patience, understanding, curiosity
and imagination.
The title of this came from a song I just heard on the radio that I haven't heard in a very
long time. Remember that jazzy ass groove by Soul II Soul? It was called, Back to life and
the woman (Audrey Wheeler) really put her all into it, on the vocals. This theory of
thought all started when I was cleaning up around the house, and in this one special
moment of thought or in a perception beyond before, heard this specific line in the song
for the very first time. Now though I used to sing a-long with it subconsciously back in the
day, I really wasn't into the lyrics like I know I am now. I mean think about it, Isn't it
amazing how you can think you know the words or proper illustration of a item being
displayed, and when you leave it for a while, come back and see something or hear
something you never heard or seen before in a deeper content, it trips you out? In a way,
its sort of like my letters. All of a sudden something happens or a situation sneaks up
on you and make you wanna say or think, Man, that's a trip. I forgot all about that one?.
Any way, if you know the song or not, the woman is singing about or should I say to
someone, to accept them on what ever terms they wish or feel warranted by. The only
request given by the vocalist is to, Make up your mind and I'll know where I stand. Now
what that meant to me back in the day who really cares, though some historian may
evaluate it when I donate my organs to a hospital after my death, for some experiment
for men born around the same time I was, that wrote down mind boggling shit like this.
But I repeat, what it meant to me back in the day when I first sang along with the song, I
have no clue, but will do my best to entertain you today in the next paragraph inspired
by the award winning song Back to Life. So if this inspires you or bores you Make Up
Your Mind and I'll Know Where I Stand.
Now if you're catching on to what I'm throwing at you, you realize that the person she
is singing to, is not in control of the situation at hand, though he or she (for the
liberals) has the choice or should we say, the decision to make the choice for both
of them to live by. The woman singing is simply telling the person to make a choice,
and she will also make one to accommodate their needs as well as the request
granted from them. That to me is the great thing about communication, it can be
determined in many ways, though some of the ways or choices made might not be
yours to own, claim or even decide. That my friends brings us back to timing and effort
and the dedication to the commitment. In a theory relevant to this letter, one of the two
principles mentioned above (timing & effort) can not be controlled, though the other
can control the direction the other goes on alone in it's journey without knowledge or
understanding of it's own destination. The partnership can not and will not exist to any
positive level if either are out of sync, which creates another choice.
