Trailer Trash Treasures                                                                                    Page 2
By Anthony Douglas Gere

I remember when I first moved down to Orange County and a few friends of mine
came down to help me move in.  Its a pretty cool house, on the beach, big
backyard and a well manicured lawn harvested by people that cant afford to live
where they work.  Well after we had been down there and furnished the place
throughout the week, we wanted to introduce ourselves to the area, and blow off a
little bit steam.  We all went to a popular club on this particular Friday night, and
drove up in exotic cars, dressed to the gills but not over the top.  One might think
we had the platinum shining, diamonds blinging or flamboyant Versace shirts
advertising the fake wealth we want to acquire.  But it was nothing like that.  We
each had the bling-bling, but we also came in button-down shirts, blazers and
dam near emulating page twenty seven in a GQ magazine.  For those of you
that don't know me, I'm a watch and shoe guy.  You may see me wearing
who or whatever, and in some cases, it wont be a well known designer or
trendy fashion.  But what you will see, is an immaculate timepiece on my
arm, and shoes that are impeccably clean and exquisite.  That's just me,
and what I absolutely think is cool.  So as we entered into the arena, we
made it a point to not be forgotten if we should ever want to come back
there at another time.  Many that go out regularly know that tipping those
you first encounter when going anywhere, can make those you will meet
later on, well aware of your importance to the environment.  So as we
drove up and valeted our vehicles, we stepped out like strangers that had
been there before.  We made eye contact without looking at those looking
at us, walked to the front of the line forming down the walkway and tipped
the doormen one hundred dollars each to bypass the line and get that
treatment you always want to receive.  You see the stereotype we men
have of women, is that most women scantly dressed with the certain
elements of their body featured with that club going look, get in at no
charge, get free drinks and the attention of a group of men gawking and
holding on to every word that is coming out of heir mouth when they go
out.  I can tell you from my opinion, most men don't really want to
seriously be with these women for too long, but feel its their duty to bag
the prize game, to let everyone else around them know, they were there
at the safari hunting with the right weapon and ammunition.  So as we
entered, I do things many don't, and maybe its by choice or a way Ive
always been, isolated and kind of strange.  Instead of looking around and
checking out the merchandise that's on display, I like to establish a home
base, and set up shop to make myself comfortable.
