A Passion for Life While Listening to Hendrix Page 1

This weekend, that to you could be any weekend depending on when you read this, was a
reflection on a image I have yet seen in reality. I've thought about it many times as a
dream or thought, but know that the only time one really knows anything, is when
everything happens revolving around that one thing. Though I am known as a corporate
fanatic with talent, I'm a music lover that proudly calls himself an ardent admirer or fan. A
truly imaginative connoisseur, that is engulfed with a mutual understanding on what is
stimulating to what makes it what it is, and why. So while listening to Hendrix this evening,
I tried to find the abstract rhythm, and write more lyrics, to understand the lyrics that were
being heard by me. Some of the things that were being said were understandable, but
most were vague, and I was in search of the motives behind the meanings that were said,
and not being heard. You see to me, we all can give reasoning or excuses on things we
do and don’t, but why are we ultimately making choices when we do? Is it that we feel we
are not ready for the truth when it faces us, or can it be that the mere false facts we are
displaying to the choices, make us react, one way or another. To me, most songs don't
tell the complete story on what is intended to be told, because there is a timetable for
commercial reasons. This limited space and opportunity, is the story we reflect on in the
song, that tells what we want the world to hear when listening to it. Lets take the topic love
example, and what it may mean to you, when and if you meet it in a good, bad or indifferent
situation. How will you know what it is, when more than likely, it will be what you have
never experienced, when you experience it? I mean it may be a stereotypical mass that
has been described by others when you feel it, but though someone tries to describe this
indescribable feeling, how can you relate your definition to theirs, when yours more than
likely will be different? Is it simply universal, or is it a choice based on the selections
you've made in the past, based on what you want to feel in the present or future? How
does one measure something that has all and none of the weight, of something you
have never previously knew the weight of? Where do you place it, who do you consult
and what do you do, when you've never been told, or never completely described
how to deal with it when it comes to you? This is not a question, but should be
answered, when dealing with a passion for life, while listening to Hendrix.
So now, not discounting love, or placing communication on sale, where's the bargain in
purchasing a new quality product? Can we fully explain or talk about something we
have no knowledge of, when all we know is what we've experienced? I for one try to go
beyond words and actions, and tackle the passion and emotional part on how I feel,
when dealing with new things. You see no matter what you say, how you say it and
how it is heard, its when one feels the words, and becomes consumes with not
only the words they hear, but the ones they say or don't say when the are touched. I
think the best way to find out something that's being said, is to find out what’s not
being said, and why? Words are just directions to a destination called action, and the
action, a preview to the purpose, definition or meaning behind the words. What's not
said, is the area that surrounds the focal point, and eliminates choices on why what
is said, more important, than what isn’t. Many may want success, love, things and
more, but why? Why does someone want something they don't already have, or had
and lost, when they're not sure on what that certain thing is? We want them based on
what we have heard from others, had and felt wasn't enough for whatever reason, and
imagined or told by someone that has it and tells us their definition on what it is and
does for them. So as I was focused on the passions of life while listening to Hendrix,
I was listening to myself, writing my own song with the words not being said.
Well anyway, this weekend I came up north to a home I have in Tahoe to relax and
gather my thoughts. I came here to get away from what brought me up here, and comfort
myself with things I was comfortable with and already have. I realized that I was trying to
eliminate temptation, and basically trying to run from a feeling inside of myself, that
followed me where ever I go. While I was physically separating myself from a
situation, I was bringing along the situation mentally, to find a emotional balance in the
geological difference.
